Responsibilities
Columbia Management, an Ameriprise Financial company, is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to be a generalist covering multiple sectors. The individual will be part of the Portfolio Management team of senior analysts and fund managers actively managing several products. This position is based in Minneapolis, MN.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Conduct primary research on the industry and specific companies through customer due diligence, earnings calls, company visits, industry conferences, and sell-side events.
* Maintain coverage of assigned sectors and stocks and make buy/sell recommendations.
* Conduct detailed valuation analysis on sector companies to arrive at price targets on existing holdings, and pricing discrepancies on prospective holdings
* Accurately assess market expectations by identifying consensus views on stocks and industry
* Proactively work with fund managers and research analysts across the complex to include best investment ideas in portfolios.
Required Qualifications
* Education: BA/BS; MBA and/or CFA are a plus.
* Experience: Four to six years of multi-sector research analyst experience at either a buy-side or sell-side firm.

Preferred Qualifications
* Strong preference will be given to candidates with international investment management experience.
* Strong Analytical Skills.
* Comprehensive understanding of financial statements.
* Ability to create detailed earnings models and written reports to support stock rankings.
* Knowledge of various valuation methodologies.
* Strong financial modeling proficiency.
